Chinese tires 'puncture' Indian industry's business, DGTR to review need for anti-dumping duty Photo:FILE New Delhi. Chinese tires are intent on puncturing the business of Indian companies. In view of this, the government is considering to continue the dumping duty on Chinese tyres. The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), the probe arm of the commerce ministry, has initiated a review for continuation of anti-dumping duty on certain types of pneumatic radial tires imported from China. The review is being done after receiving complaints in this regard from the domestic industry. The Automobile Tire Manufacturers Association (ATMA) has lodged a complaint in this regard with the DGTR. ATMA has sought review of the applicable anti-dumping duty on new/unused pneumatic radial tyres, tubed and tubeless tires imported from China. These tires are used in buses and trucks/lorries.
